CHASING A STAR

I once set out to chase a star,
I didn't mind the distance, whether it was near or far.

There away it seemed to be a twinkling little dot,
Staring at me like the eyes of a jolly tot.

Never did it seem closer, no matter how much I tried,
My efforts looked like they had all went in vain, leaving me terrified.

But then again I took a glance at the ever-happy star,
Asking me to bring out the dare devil you really are.

Fresh and full of spirit, I decided to continue,
But the task wasn't easy, that I knew.

The star signaled me to have faith and reach my destination,
Despite the numerous obstacles that came across, causing distraction.

Alas! Off went that terrible, horrid alarm,
Waking me up and leaving me to think of nothing but the dream's charm !
